Your doctor or transplant team has given you specific instructions about how to take myfortic tablets each day. Follow them exactly. For best results, take myfortic on an empty stomach—1 hour before or 2 hours after you eat. Also, it's a good idea to take your myfortic tablets at the same time each day to maintain a consistent dosing schedule.
For instance, if you plan to eat breakfast at 7:00 am, you could take myfortic at 6:00 am (1 hour before breakfast) or at 9:00 am (2 hours after breakfast). Later that day, if you plan to eat your evening meal at 7:00 pm, you could take myfortic at 6:00 pm (1 hour before your meal) or at 9:00 pm (2 hours after your meal). It's a good idea to take your doses 12 hours apart for best results and to be consistent from day to day.

Why do I need to take myfortic as instructed?
It is important that you take your medication each and every day around the same time. This will help keep the same amount of medicine in your body—throughout the entire day—and help protect you and your kidney. Always be sure to take your medication consistently to experience the best results from your treatment regimen. Swallowing the tablet whole ensures the enteric coating remains intact.
